Christie Thompson is a staff writer at The Marshall Project, a nonprofit newsroom covering criminal justice and immigration. Her investigative reporting has been published by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic and as an Amazon Kindle Single. Her series with NPR on violence in double-celled “solitary confinement” won the 2016 George Polk Award for justice reporting and was a finalist for an IRE Award and the John Bartlow Martin Award. Prior to joining The Marshall Project in 2014, Thompson was an investigative reporter at ThinkProgress and a fellow at ProPublica.
