Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship: Insights from Insiders
Exploring – and Understanding – the City You Cover
For more than 30 years, the Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship has introduced promising young(ish) Washington reporters to the city they have been assigned to cover. From September to June, this one-day-a-month fellowship will give print, online and broadcast journalists from top news organizations an intensive – and lively – overview of reporting in the capital.
Over the course of nine months, fellows will visit the Pentagon, the Supreme Court, the Capitol and other key Washington institutions. They’ll discuss politics and policy with regulators, lawmakers, experts and the best reporters in the business. And they’ll network with colleagues who will help them grow personally and professionally.
The Washington media landscape is filled with former Paul Miller fellows. You can join their ranks. Apply below.
Deadline to apply: July 6
The Paul Miller Fellowship will meet one day a month during the 2018-19 year, starting in September (the program will not meet in November). The fellowship meets at the National Press Foundation’s Media Training Center in downtown Washington, with field trips to local agencies and institutions. Attendance at all session days is mandatory.
