Frank Chaloupka, professor of economics at the University of Illinois, Chicago, talked about taxes and the business of tobacco.

Taxes that drive up the cost of tobacco have proven to be the single most effective way to persuade smokers to quit or cut back, yet taxation is inconsistent from country to country, and even within nations, including the U.S. Chaloupka and his team have created a website “Tobacconomics” chockful of data about tobacco.
