Alyssa Black assumed the role of Program Manager at the National Press Foundation in July 2018, overseeing the coordination of logistics for the Foundation’s various programs. In her current capacity as the Assistant Director of Operations, Alyssa manages key responsibilities, including the coordination of NPF’s fellowships and active participation in the management of the Foundation’s grants. Alyssa has managed programs around the globe, including fellowships in Hong Kong, Singapore and Paris.
Prior to her tenure at the National Press Foundation, Alyssa held the position of Account Representative and Customer Service Specialist at Gourmet Gorilla, a startup based in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, she collaborated with The Greater Chicago Food Depository to provide free meals to children and teenagers in low-income areas.
In 2021, Alyssa volunteered with Atlas Corps, where she served as a mentor to global leaders working toward positive community impact.
Alyssa earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Virginia.
