An explosion of genetic understanding has opened new avenues of research on cancer, in all its complexity. Both treatment and prevention could ultimately be transformed by new knowledge of oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, and the molecular defects that drive cancer. We are coming to understand more and more about the association between behavior and lifestyle and the susceptibility to cancer development. Leading experts discussed controversies related to screening and treatment during our Cancer Issues Program.
This was NPF’s fifth on-the-record cancer issues program. Resources from last year’s program are here.
This program was underwritten by Pfizer Inc. Our guidelines for program sponsors are here.
