Suzanne Lindley is a long time survivor of advanced metastatic colorectal cancer. She and her husband, Ronnie, have been married for twenty-four years and they have three daughters. She has survived colon cancer for the past twelve years by finding and turning treatment stepping stones, changing a terminal condition into a chronic disease. Through personal experiences she has learned the importance of support and advocacy, both for the patient and the family. She has helped to coordinate thousands of "FRIENDS" and has seen and felt the benefit of self advocacy, while at the same time navigating her own cancer journey.
Suzanne has been involved with numerous cancer organizations including American Cancer Society, Association of Online Cancer Resources, Colorectal Cancer Coalition, LiveSTRONG, National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, Nursing Oncology Education Program, and YES! Beat Liver Tumors. She has appeared on the Today Show with Katie Couric, who dubbed her a “medical matchmaker,” The Economic Report with Grant Gumbel, and her story has been shared through multiple magazine and newsletter articles. She has also been featured on HealthNet radio and Health Talk Radio, has received numerous awards for her volunteer efforts, and was recently nominated for the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame. She has given hope when hope has all but disappeared.
