Professor Bill Bellew
Professor Bill Bellew is a Technical Advisor on Tobacco Control with The Union. He is an honorary Professor of Public Health at the University of Sydney and of Health Promotion at the University of Queensland. He has more than 20 years of experience in public health including senior policy positions in government. He has worked in several countries including the UK, Australia, Laos, India, Philippines and Pacific Islands. Bill’s public health interests focus on the prevention of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) – cancers, CVD, diabetes and chronic respiratory disease, through strategies that include a focus on tobacco control, physical activity, healthy nutrition, and alcohol control policies and programmes. A keen scuba diver, Bill reached PADI Divemaster level in 2010.
