"Madina" is 37 years old. She is married and has three children. She moved to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in 1994 to support her family, but since her job barely paid anything, she began sex work. In 1995, she met a man who understood her and did not reject her because of her job and they married. She has done other types of work since 1994, but has often returned to sex work for financial reasons. She has worked in the United Arab Emirates, in Turkey and in Kazakhstan. Wherever she has been, sex workers face the same problems. She has 16 years of experience in sex work and we can say that sadly, the stigma and prejudice against sex workers has not changed.
