Dr. Nils E. Billo, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Nils E. Billo, MD, MPH is Executive Director of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) since 1992. The Union is an experienced NGO with pioneer work in tuberculosis (development of the DOTS strategy), in the management of asthma and in the management of pneumonia in children younger than five in developing countries. Dr. Billo is a member of the Stop TB Coordinating Board and Treasurer of the International Non Governmental Coalition Against Tobacco. Before joining The Union, he was head of the Epidemiology Section of the Federal Office of Public Health in Switzerland.
