Dr. Minetta Liu

Dr. Minetta Liu joined the faculty of the Breast Cancer Program in July 2001. She received her A.B. from the Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University and her M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine here at Georgetown University Hospital in 1998 and most recently culminated her fellowship training in the Division of Hematology/Oncology as Chief Fellow at the Lombardi Cancer Center. Dr. Liu is heavily involved in translational research with a focus on the use of microarray gene analysis in identifying the molecular mechanisms responsible for determining chemotherapy sensitivity versus resistance. This work is currently supported by a research grant from the National Cancer Institute. Most importantly, she is firmly dedicated to the care and education of women with breast cancer and uses an individualized, multidisciplinary approach to patient management.
