The newly elected board of the Regional Reporters Association has a strong representation of NPF alums—nine to be exact. All eight selectees have graduated from NPF’s Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship in the past six years.

Among them are President, Joseph Morton of Omaha World Herald (Paul Miller Fellow, 2006-2007), Vice President, Matt Canham of The Salt Lake Tribute (Paul Miller Fellow, 2008-2009) and Secretary, Bob Keefe of the Atlanta Journal Constitution (Paul Miller Fellow, 2009-2010). Other ‘Paul Millers’ elected to the board are: Herb Jackson, The Record, Bart Sullivan, Scripps Howard News Service, Bill Theobald, Gannett, Matt Laslo, freelance radio reporter, Keith Chu, Bend Bulletin, and Derek Wallbank, Minnpost.com. A complete board list is available here.

A ‘rite-of-passage’ for regional reporters and editors, the Paul Miller Washington Reporting fellowship offers journalist a Washington insider education and introduction to new media skills. NPF will soon announce members of the 2010-2011 class!

The Regional Reporters Association represents reporters who cover local and regional stories from Washington, D.C. More info about becoming a member is available here.
