We recently had several of our videos from past awards dinners digitized. As the 27th Annual Awards Dinner approaches, these videos have given us a fun way to look back at dinners from past years. We are in the process of uploading all of the videos that we have from the Annual Awards Dinner to YouTube. "Journalism Matters" is the theme of the 27th Annual Awards Dinner. In order to build excitement around the theme, we've been collecting different people's thoughts on why they think journalism is important. Linda Topping Streitfeld, the Director of Programs at the National Press Foundation shared her thoughts in the following video message: We want you to tell us why journalism matters to you. Mike Keefe of Denver Post Wins Berryman Cartooning Award From National Press Foundation

Mike Keefe of the Denver Post has been awarded the 2009 Berryman Award for Editorial Cartooning for a wide-ranging series of drawings that poked fun at politicians, journalists and public perceptions. The award carries a $2,500 prize and a crystal trophy. The award will be presented at the 27th annual National Press Foundation Awards Dinner, Tuesday night, February 16th, 2010, at the Washington Hilton Hotel. The theme of the night’s dinner is, “Journalism Matters.” NPF has created a special blog about its dinner, http://tinyurl.com/yhvsozl.
