2010 Awards: Call for Entries

The National Press Foundation is now accepting applications for awards recognizing journalistic excellence. Winners will be recognized at NPF’s 2011 Awards Dinner, set to take place on March 1, 2011. Journalists are invited to apply for the following:

Dirksen Awards for Distinguished Reporting of Congress
Entries will be judged on how well they covered the workings of the Congress as a whole, or helped illuminate the actions of elected officials or congressional staff, or described the workings of congressional policies. The work must have been published or broadcast in Sept.1, 2009 - Sept.1, 2010.

Excellence in Online Journalism Award
The intent of the award is to recognize achievement in the rapidly changing field of internet journalism, and encourage others through the winner's example. The award can be made to a site, or an individual, or a specific project.

Berryman Award for Editorial Cartoons
The competition is open to editorial cartoonists whose work was published between Sept. 1, 2009 and Sept. 1, 2010.

Taishoff Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism
The Taishoff Award is given to an active broadcaster for a body of quality work in video or audio journalism.  The award may recognize an individual's accomplishment in field reporting, producing, writing or work at the anchor desk. Click here for more information.

Application Instructions:
