The National Press Foundation established the Editor of the Year Award in 1984 to recognize significant achievements that enhance the quality of journalism in the
Nominations are being accepted for this award from external parties as well as internally from award committee members. The top winner will receive $5,000 and honorable mentions will receive a cash award of $1,000.
In 2005, the award was named in honor of Ben Bradlee, who served as Executive Editor of The Washington Post from 1968 to 1991.
