Victoria McGrane 2012
Wall Street Journal
Victoria McGrane is a staff reporter with the Wall Street Journal, covering banking policy and the regulators and lawmakers who make it. She follows the implementation of the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act and its impact on lenders and other businesses. Victoria covered the negotiation, drafting and ultimate passage of Dodd-Frank in Congress from start to finish, first at Politico and then with Dow Jones Newswires, which she joined in April 2010. She started her current position in October 2010.
Prior to joining Politico in 2007, Victoria learned the ropes of covering Capitol Hill as a financial services and trade reporter for Congressional Quarterly. Her first journalism job was with the Keene Sentinel in Keene, N.H., straight out of college with very little idea of what she was doing. Two years and countless town halls, city council meetings and planning board fights later (plus one Democratic presidential primary), she was hooked.
She earned a master’s degree in international political economy from the London School of Economics in 2005 and a bachelor’s degree in history from Dartmouth College.
