Gregory L. Moore was named editor of The Denver Post in June 2002. He is responsible for everything in the newspaper and online except for the editorial and op-ed pages. He has been in the newspaper business for 36 years and been a supervising editor since 1983. Mr. Moore joined the Post after a 16-year career at The Boston Globe, serving in various editing positions, the last eight as the Globe’s managing editor. He is a 1976 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University where he earned a degree in journalism and political science. He began his career in Dayton, Ohio and four years later got hired at his hometown newspaper, The Plain Dealer, in Cleveland, six years later he as in Boston. In 2012, he was named Central Region Editor for Digital First Media, overseeing news operations in Colorado, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Michigan and Ohio. Mr. Moore has served on the OWU Board of Trustees and the board of the American Society of News Editors. He is completing a nine-year term on the Pulitzer Prize Board and serves as its co-chair. During his tenure, The Post has won three consecutive Pulitzer Prizes, two for photography and one for editorial cartooning. This year was a challenging one for the newspaper, including covering deadly wildfires, the tragic theater shooting in Aurora, the first Presidential debate and the launching of a digital book publishing enterprise all while implementing a new production model that eliminated the traditional copy desk. Mr. Moore and his wife Nina have two daughters (Jasmine, 10 and Jaden, 8). His son Michael Langston Moore, 29, from a previous marriage, lives in Boston.
